DROP OUT RECOVERY
Creating a Transformational Strategy for Higher Education and Career Stability Through Effective Partnerships - Birmingham Alabama

Picture
How a community prepares itself for a future that ensures economic and social prosperity is of the utmost importance. This is a challenge that befalls the leadership of every community and a pathway that leads through the manner in which we educate and train our young adults for successful careers.

The Dropout Recovery Initiative represents a convergence of stakeholders that are willing to concentrate time, talent and treasure in a concerted effort for the purpose of supporting the creation of an environment in which students that have dropped out of school will get a second chance for success.

At Mission Alabama, we seek to serve as a catalyst for community based solutions that involve a concerted effort from the communities of faith, corporate, government and other organizational stakeholders.

  • The strategy that we are proposing as a solution engages all of the stakeholders and challenges them to step forward and own the educational process of our community.
  • The strategy that we are proposing seeks to create a model that will allow students who have dropped out of school a second chance to obtain a high school diploma and a second chance for success in life.
  • The strategy that we are proposing ensures that the educational process once again returns to being a major component in the socialization of our young men and young women through the development of their character.
  • The strategy that we are proposing partners local churches and other community partners with the local school system. Beyond school hours, these partners can continue to assist families.
